This modest little joint (without even any street signage) does a brisk trade during lunch, where it's famous for its irregularly shaped homemade muffins and for its gourmet salads, such as the tangy couscous salad with pumpkin, snow peas and heaps of mint. The all-day breakfast is also a big draw, with highlights consisting of banana and caramel pancakes, a breakfast burrito and the impressively compiled 'brekkie stack': a potato fritter topped with grilled tomatoes, basil, bacon, grilled haloumi, spinach, housemade relish and a poached egg. The cafe's name seems to have been partly inspired by one of the heritage building's exposed walls, revealing the original plaster, now coloured a faded green. You'll also find quality Illy coffee and a wide array of housemade baked goods and desserts, from old-fashioned sponges to fresh muffins and forest cakes.
