One of the reasons Federation Square has become a Melbourne icon in such a short time, is the fantastic mix of galleries, restaurants and shops that you won't find anywhere else.
Beer De Luxe is a brilliant example. A restaurant designed to provide gallery goers, tourists and passers by with a unique experience.
But it’s not just the beer that makes Beer De Luxe unique. It’s the whole philosophy of the place.
It’s been designed to suit the people who meet at Federation Square. Whether you’re visiting one of the galleries, catching up with some friends after work, passing through on your way to the MCG or Tennis Centre, doing some sightseeing or just looking for a great place to eat or drink.
On the ground floor is the Beer Salon that opens up into a neat little Espresso Café in the Atrium with the NGV galleries and museum at the side and into a fantastic Beer Garden at the front. The food is simple, stylish and Italian influenced, the beers icy cold, the atmosphere relaxed and laid back and the service quick and friendly.
Heading upstairs you will find the Hamburger Grill for arguably Melbourne’s best traditional hamburger restaurant also serving a great selection of grilled seafood and meats. The best quality fresh produce is simply grilled to perfection and matched to the right beer or premium wine. The atmosphere is classy, cool and casual with outdoor tables also available.
Looking for a quick bite or something to takeaway while discovering Federation Square? Head for the outdoor Hamburger Bar surrounded by heaters and outdoor tables overlooking the Big Screen. You won't find any ordinary commercial hamburgers here. These are the real thing modeled on Melbourne’s traditional cafes of the 1950’s and 60’s. The home of the hamburger with the lot and fresh steamed dim sims with soy sauce while you wait. You will also be greeted by a chilled beer font tapped with American, Belgian and local microbrew draught beers. The perfect match to watch the world go by.
